• ROBRADY Welcomes Engineer Andy Muser to the Team

Muser’s extensive work in medical device design and engineering supports the studio’s objective to humanize technology.

Sarasota, FL, April 26, 2016 - ROBRADY design adds more depth to their bench with the recruitment of Senior Mechanical Engineer Andy Muser. Muser’s extensive work in medical device design and engineering supports the studio’s objective to humanize technology.

Like many children with dreams of playing professional sports (in this case, it was hockey), Andy was encouraged to consider a fallback career. Fortunately, he knew at the age of 13 that engineering would be his calling even if the NHL wasn’t.

In the years that followed a fateful career day at school, Muser attended the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (now known as U-Mass Lowell) where he pursued engineering to feed his love for math and science. While in college he worked for medical device companies. He then transitioned to improving quality and manufacturability of new products. Eventually, he moved into new product development where his comprehensive understanding of the development process came to bear in a broad range of areas such as cardiology, gastroenterology, wireless ECG, biosciences, and liquid drug delivery systems to name a few.

“I have experience in all phases of medical device design control from ideation through post-market surveillance,” notes Muser. “I’ve been fortunate to work on many projects that improve the quality of life for people.”

Given his credentials, which include work at Smith & Nephew, ownership of several patents and an MBA in Innovation Management from North Carolina State University, it might come as no surprise that Muser caught ROBRADY’s attention. However, ROBRADY had caught his as well after Muser collaborated with the studio in 2006. After that project’s conclusion, Muser continued to follow ROBRADY with great interest, and in time, when various circumstances landed Muser on Florida’s west coast, their paths have crossed once more. As the newest member of the award winning studio, Muser looks forward to the challenge of creating new and diverse products that enhance quality of life.

Muser is a member of the Product Development Management Association (PDMA), Project Management Institute (PMI), and Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).
