Design that improves the quality of care for every patient it touches
ROBRADY’s collaboration with LifeSync yielded the first electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor to use Bluetooth technology. The innovative on-body Leadware® coupled with an on-body electronic device communicates wirelessly with the monitor and with no interference from other equipment, allowing patients greater freedom of movement and eliminates the need to constantly remove the sensors during treatment or procedures such as x-rays.
ROBRADY’s work on the innovative, award-winning design of the wireless ECG system led LifeSync to seek the studio’s help on future iterations. Key to the success was ROBRADY’s ethnographic/ergonomic research. Present during in-hospital reviews prior to the design phase, ROBRADY was able to gain healthcare and patient concerns as well as the more typical production and marketing issues associated with a critical care medical device.
