Power in Motion: Introducing the db0 7
Born with universal purpose, the latest db0 bike design by ROBRADY is a transportation solution adaptable to the increasing eco-minded population demanding real EV performance.
Intentionally unique in shape to accommodate the duality of male and female riders by allowing ease of mount and dismount, the db0 7 aesthetic mission was to turn heads at a distance. Designed around this universal theme, the basic V shape becomes an iconic element of the design – using the unique central hub as the focal point of the bike with illuminated LEDs to communicate battery and power assist status. Riders gain real-time information on their bike’s performance via a Bluetooth unit that will relay information to a db0 app on the rider’s smart phone mounted to the handlebar.
At first glance, it’s easy to see that the circular hub is the iconic element of the db0 7 – highlighting not only the embedded technology, but also the overall visual simplicity of the design. This stays within the db0 family aesthetic of elevating the electronic hub as the focus. With the original db0 3, the battery was integrated into the design as the pivot housing for the folding frame – winning scores of international design awards when it premiered.
Created with more traditional bike manufacturing methodologies in place, the goal was to keep the weight to a minimum while appreciating the structural and power system requirements of a performance minded pedelec ride.
