<BODY> With press and consumers from across the world in anticipation, Segway LLC has just launched the 2005 version of their flagship product, the two-wheeled, self-balancing, electric human transporter (HT). Playing a key role in the creation of this new design was the Sarasota-based ROBRADY design team. Chosen because of their design credits in both the transportation and consumer product markets, ROBRADY was uniquely positioned to work with the Segway team in developing the conceptual vision as well as supporting the detailed design follow-through, which included committing to compressed deadlines that supported advanced dealer presentations. The new HT sports a sleek, progressive fender design with rear-tilted accentual guards that protect riders from wheel spray and repeated wheel accents that mimic mechanical spokes. With the tires more visible and more detailed the combined effect of the updated design elements lends to the aesthetic strength of the vehicle, which boasts one of two new color themes that set the trend for the visually energetic Segway product line.
